Basic and comfortable. This was our first visit to Birmingham and we wanted to stay somewhere affordable with free parking. This B&B is comfortable but dated and could use a revamp. The bed was small but quite comfortable. Our hostess was really nice, welcoming and friendly and guided us on places to visit. The included English breakfast was ok but not great. The toast was cold by the time it reached our table and the bacon tasted like it had just come out of the microwave. Would have been nice to have a few more than just 1 mushroom on our plate. The room faced Coventry road and while clean was a tad noisy. All in all, a nice, affordable B&B for just £60/night.
Will never book again. Wouldn't let me check in ten minutes after 9pm, after driving over 2hrs to get there. Very rude owner who goes zero distance for the customer. Considering its family run, you'd expect some flexibility or compassion. Was left on the street and out of pocket on this one. I understand terms and conditions say 9pm but attitude is never appropriate and some compassion would have been appreciated. Don't recommend staying here and if you do, don't expect anything outside the minimum requirements. The rooms looked alright online, but I didn't actually get to see them in person so it wouldn't be fair to comment further.
Stopped in here last night for 2 night stay, to attend the Birmingham Dive show being held at the NEC. Parked car in adjacent road-Its free, Local bus the X1 across the road at the Tesco takes you to the NEC for £2.40 single or £4.60 return (if you don't want to pay the £12.00 NEC car park fee). I'm in a single room (£70 for 2 nights), so saving on car park for me. Marilyn the host, very friendly & warm. Nice cosy room, comfy bed & hot shower. Nearby World food restaurant/Pub. Eat all you like for £14.99. Good value.
